Have you lost weight and still NOT gotten the results you want?

Happy Hump Day Everyone
Every time someone starts at the gym with us, or begins their Nutrition Coaching journey with us...
 
The 1st question has to be What is The Goal?
 
Most people say weight loss..
They will say they want to lose 10lbs or 15lbs or 20 lbs..
 
Or the they will give me a number
"I want to weigh 135lbs"
 
Then I say.."why 10lbs?" or "why 135?"
 
To which most people have a general answer...that they have not really expressed fully to themselves...
 
It's something like "that's what I use to weigh before xyz"
or "that what is a good weight for my height"
 
So then I say..well what would you like to look like? or, do you have or have you thought about what you would visually like to see when you look in the mirror?
 
Sometimes there is an answer and some times there is a "I have thought about it, but I don't know if I can"
 
Then I ask the BIG QUESTION:
 
What if we could help you look the way you want and you didn't reach your "goal" weight...would you be ok with that?
or
What if you hit your "goal" weight but didn't look the way you want... would you be ok with that?
 
Now we start to see what's really going on... ;-) 
 
Most people are more concerned with the number on the scale...
And most people that decide to get started, that I help reach their desired weight, realize once they reach the number on the scale...that... that was not what they wanted...and that's when their brain explodes!!!
 
The disconnection between what they thought happens in an instant.
 
A desired look or a desired feeling is not tied to the number on the scale...
Unless you are a fighter trying to make weight or have to be a certain weight for a specific reason that would require that weight..then the number on the scale is just a unit of measurement.
 
Think about this for a moment...how many times have you tried out an outfit at a certain size that just didn't look right when you tried it on...
 
Or how many times has the opposite happened...
 
I think...that most people only use the number on the scale because they really have not thought about what they really want enough and because they don't really have any other reference point...then there are also the ones the don't want to understand...you know who you are ;-)
 
It's all ok...and all of you can reach the out come you want...maybe you just need some more clarity on what you actually want.
 
Let me repeat:
What if we could help you look the way you want and you didn't reach your "goal" weight...would you be ok with that?
or
What if you hit your "goal" weight but didn't look the way you want... would you be ok with that?
 
Your goals are Yours...you owe it to yourself to really give it some thought...
